Principi di Butera is a Sicilian estate in the Riesi DOC area of Caltanissetta, set in the historic Feudo Deliella fiefdom between the Valley of the Temples and Piazza Armerina. Owned by the Zonin family since 1997 and part of the family-run ZONIN 1821 group, it focuses on expressing Sicily’s native varieties, particularly Nero d’Avola. Mineral-rich soils, Mediterranean sea breezes and a hot, arid climate shape wines described as elegant, refined, intense and fresh. The estate emphasizes sustainable viticulture, biodiversity protection, sustainable pest control and responsible water management, including the elimination of weed killers. Its restored ancient Baglio reflects the site’s historic character and commitment to preserving the territory.
