2023 · 'GAU' Riesling

Marto is the natural wine label of a family estate in Flonheim, Rheinhessen, founded by Martin Worner’s grandfather and now owned and run by Martin himself. Since taking over in 2015, he has focused on organic and biodynamic farming methods, including cover crops, sheep grazing and no-till work, though the estate is not formally certified. In the cellar, Marto follows a low-intervention approach: indigenous yeasts, aging on lees in used barrels, and wines bottled unfined, unfiltered and with low sulphur. The result is a distinctly artisanal producer shaped closely by the work and philosophy of its grower-winemaker.
