Kardos is a family-owned winery in Mád, at the heart of Hungary’s Tokaj-Hegyalja region. Led by Gábor Kardos and his father since 2008, the estate combines family vineyard work with modern winemaking and respect for Tokaj traditions. Its wines are made from local varieties including Furmint, Hárslevelű and Yellow Muscat, ranging from terroir-driven dry whites to late-harvest wines, Szamorodni and Tokaji Aszú. Careful bunch selection, yield limitation and selective harvesting are used to express the character of Mád’s volcanic, mineral-rich vineyards and notable acidity. The winery offers both estate and single-vineyard wines, with a particular focus on traditional sweet wines alongside modern dry styles.
