Cos d’Estournel is a historic Saint-Estèphe estate in Bordeaux, founded by Louis Gaspard d’Estournel and owned by Michel Reybier since 2000, with Aymeric de Gironde as managing director and winemaker. Known for its independent, audacious spirit and oriental-inspired architecture, the estate combines long heritage with technical innovation, including early isothermal conical vats and a pioneering gravity-flow cellar. Vineyard work is highly parcel-specific, with soils matched carefully to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, old vines, and detailed intra-parcel selection. The approach emphasizes gentle handling, precision, and terroir expression, supported by energy-efficient facilities and environmental stewardship, with HVE and ISO 14001 certification.
