Clotilde Legrand is a Loire Valley producer and a pioneering family name in Saumur-Champigny, with winegrowing roots dating to the 17th century. Since 2014, Clotilde has led the family tradition as its first woman winegrower. The estate’s Cabernet Franc is harvested by hand and vinified parcel by parcel, with traditional methods designed to express each vintage, producing both fresh, fruit-driven wines and bottles suited to ageing. Fermentation is carried out without added sulfites, while total SO₂ remains below organic-farming limits, although the estate is not certified organic. Grass grows between the vine rows, and wines are aged in tanks or 500-litre French oak barrels, often for extended periods in the family’s tufa-stone cellar. A small Chenin Blanc parcel produces dry Saumur Blanc.
