Château La Conseillante is a historic, family-owned Pomerol estate, held by the Nicolas family since 1871 and now guided by the fifth generation, Bertrand and Jean-Valmy Nicolas. Set on the Catusseau plateau, the vineyard is noted for its patchwork of clay and gravel soils, a long-preserved mosaic of parcels that shapes the estate’s distinctive identity. Sustainability is central, with ISO 14001 and HVE 3 certification and biodiversity measures including clover, oats, and radish cover crops. Marielle Cazaux directs the estate and leads winemaking, supported by consulting oenologist Michel Rolland. The wines are defined in the notes by finesse, balance, velvety texture, and aromas that range from violet and red fruit in youth to truffle with age.
