Château de La Chaize is a historic Beaujolais estate in the Rhône Valley, founded in the 17th century and owned by the Gruy family since 2017. Classified as a French national heritage site, it includes historic clos and vineyards across Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly, Fleurie, and Morgon. The estate follows a plot-by-plot, single-vineyard approach, with each parcel vinified and aged separately to express its character. Farming is guided by sustainability, with HVE certification, conversion to organic viticulture, and work toward biodynamic status, alongside cover crops, carbon reduction, and zero-waste initiatives. In the cellar, the style is low-intervention, using manual harvests, gravity flow, whole-cluster fermentation, wild yeasts, and oak aging.
