France

Château d’Hanteillan is a family-owned estate in Cissac-Médoc, producing red AOC Haut-Médoc wines from vineyards planted on deep gravel soils extending from Saint-Estèphe. The Mathieu-Blasco family acquired the property in the early 1970s and gradually restored and expanded its historic vineyard. Catherine Blasco managed the estate for around three decades, while technical director Philippe Marchal has led a renovation and quality-improvement programme since 2012, working with consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt. The estate combines grape growing, winemaking and estate management, with a clear focus on improving the quality of its traditional Médoc wines.
