Cantine Giacomo Montresor

Italy

Founded in 1892 by Giacomo Montresor, this historic winery is an urban estate located just 3 km from Verona's centre at the gateway to Valpolicella. It farms 40 hectares of estate vineyards, focusing on native varieties like Corvina and Rondinella. The producer is deeply rooted in tradition, with a long history in sparkling wine (since 1956) and is renowned for its iconic, patented satin bottle, designed in 1921 to protect wine during export. Its philosophy emphasises a direct connection to its terroir, showcased through traditional techniques like appassimento for Amarone and Recioto. The winery is also committed to hospitality, operating an interactive Wine Museum and offering immersive tours of its historic drying loft and cellars.
