Sauvignon Blanc Straden

Weingut Krispel is a two-generation family estate in Hof bei Straden, in Styria’s volcanic country, run by Stefan and Julia Krispel. Stefan serves as owner, managing director, cellar master and winemaker. The estate has been converting to organic farming since 2020, with its own vineyards organically certified from the 2023 vintage, and is certified by Nachhaltigkeit Austria. Its vineyards are rooted in basalt-rich sites, including Rosenberg, Neusetzberg and Hochstrandl, producing wines shaped by the region’s distinctive geology. Under the broader Genussgut Krispel concept, the winery is combined with the Genusstheater restaurant, guest accommodation and organic woolly-pig farming. New production facilities use wood-chip heating, heat pumps and photovoltaics, making them almost energy self-sufficient.
