Villa Oeiras is a publicly owned project of the Oeiras Municipality, created to preserve and revive the historic fortified wines of the Carcavelos DOC near Lisbon. Its vineyards lie in the Oeiras valley, close to the sea, and the project has operated since 2001. Winemaking is led by Pedro Sá, with coordination by Alexandre Lisboa. Traditional vinification and long ageing take place across two historic cellars, including the 18th-century Adega do Palácio Marquês de Pombal and Adega do Casal da Manteiga. With documented roots in the region reaching back to the 15th century, Villa Oeiras focuses on maintaining Carcavelos’s distinctive heritage, producing elegant, complex wines with notable ageing potential.
