Terre de l'Élu is a family-run domaine in Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné in Anjou, Loire Valley, founded in 2008 by Charlotte and Thomas Carsin. Working on schist-dominant terroirs in the Layon valley, they farm organically and biodynamically, with ECOCERT and DEMETER certification, native cover crops, no synthetic products, hand harvesting, natural-yeast fermentations, minimal sulfur, and long élevage. The estate also incorporates vitiforestry and agro-pastoral practices, including hedges, trees, and winter sheep grazing. Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc are central, alongside Gamay, Grolleau, Pineau d’Aunis and others. The domaine is marked by an independent, creative spirit: after leaving the AOP framework, it adopted the name Terre de l’Élu to preserve greater freedom in its wines.
