Setzer is a family-owned estate in Hohenwarth in Austria’s Weinviertel, run by Hans Setzer, his wife Ulli, and their children Marie-Theres and Eugen, with Hans as the primary winemaker. Since becoming a dedicated wine estate in 2001, the family has followed sustainable, integrated farming, including dry-farming and avoiding chemical fertilizers and herbicides. Their vineyard approach also includes high-density planting, French-imported rootstocks, massal selections, and vegan-friendly production. No formal organic or biodynamic certification is noted, but the focus is clearly on careful, sustainability-minded viticulture and hands-on family stewardship.
