Founded by Pierrick Laroche in Burgundy, Domaine des Hâtes is a family-owned estate where Laroche remains both owner and winemaker. Commercial production began in 2010, with vineyards centered in Maligny under the Chablis appellation and a small parcel in the Fontenay valley. Its eight parcels average 25 years of age, with clay-rich soils and Kimmeridgian and Portlandian limestone-shale contributing flinty, smoky minerality. The domaine farms without herbicides and uses minimal fungicides, although no formal organic or biodynamic certification is noted. Vineyard holdings have expanded through inheritance, including additional parcels received in 2019, while a small négoce activity has operated since 2016.
