Hacienda López de Haro is a Rioja producer based in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, in the heart of Rioja Alta, and part of Vintae Wine Company. It presents “contemporary classics” that reinterpret traditional Rioja with an elegant, expressive and approachable style. The winery works with selected old, low-yield bush vines across the Sonsierra, Alto Najerilla and Rioja Alavesa, including high-altitude vineyards on clay-iron and clay-limestone soils. Grapes are hand-harvested, with native yeasts, spontaneous malolactic fermentation and extended French-oak ageing used for selected wines. Its philosophy, “La buena vida,” emphasizes taking time to do things well, reconnecting with nature and preserving traditional practices. The producer highlights artisan and sustainable methods and is vegan-friendly certified.
