Hacienda El Ternero is a distinctive Rioja producer in Rioja Alta, at the foot of the Montes Obarenes with views over the Ebro valley. Its 250-hectare estate is the only winery in Castile and León to carry the Rioja designation. With origins dating to 1077, the property includes historic buildings from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, a former monastery, and an enduring hermitage, surrounded by forests and vineyards. The winery emphasizes expressing its unique terroir, altitude and microclimate through late, hand-harvested grapes. Its portfolio comprises 14 wines, and the estate also hosts wine-focused cultural and tourism events.
