Italy

E. Pira & Figli is a family-run Barolo estate in Piedmont, owned by the Boschis family after their acquisition of the vineyards from the Pira family. Since 1990, Chiara Boschis has led the winery and winemaking, making her one of the first female winemakers in Barolo. The estate works only with its own grapes from several M.G.A.s and follows organic farming, with strict manual vineyard management and no mechanical interventions. Family involvement remains central, with Giorgio Boschis, Daniella, and the next generation active in the estate. The approach emphasizes hands-on viticulture and separate vinifications to preserve the character of individual vineyard sites.
