Domaine Beyer is a family-run Alsace estate in Epfig, operated by Christian and Valérie Beyer. The Beyer family has been independent winegrowers for generations, with the estate’s history variously traced to 1792 and its foundation in 1913. Vineyards are spread across five communes and diverse terroirs, including clay, sandy-stony soils, south-facing sites, and volcanic schist. Farming emphasizes environmental respect, mechanical soil work, mostly hand harvesting, and a move toward full organic conversion; the Eguisheim collection was certified organic in 2014. Christian, a trained oenologist, makes wines from the seven traditional Alsace varieties, as well as Crémant d’Alsace and Vendanges Tardives, with vinification in century-old oak foudres.
