Château Tour de Pez

France

Château Tour de Pez is a Cru Bourgeois estate in Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux, with roots dating back to the 18th century and older local family ties. Since 2019 it has been owned by Allianz through Vignobles de Larose and is managed by Thierry Castells, with consultant oenologist Hubert de Bouard overseeing vinification. The vineyard is fragmented into many parcels on clay and clay-limestone soils in the hamlet of Pez. Sustainability is central here: the estate is Terra Vitis certified, holds HVE Level 3, has stopped herbicides, returned to ploughing, and uses cover crops, tillage and other responsible farming methods, with organic conversion also noted in the sources. The wines are manually harvested Bordeaux blends of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, supported by ongoing cellar modernization.
