Château Carcanieux is a Cru Bourgeois Médoc estate produced by Maison Ginestat. Its vineyards lie on extremely gravelly, free-draining soils and are planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Winemaker Eric Boissenot keeps oak influence restrained, with new oak limited to 20% of barrels, allowing the Médoc fruit and terroir to remain central. The estate produces Château Carcanieux from sandy-gravelly plots and Château Les Lattes from clay-loamy plots.
