Bava is a historic, family-owned winery in Piedmont, founded in 1911 and now spanning four to six generations. The family cultivates 50 hectares of vineyards across three estates in Monferrato and Langhe, part of an 80-hectare property that includes woods and meadows. Winemaking is led by cellar director Giulio Bava and vineyard director Paolo Bava, with key family members in leadership roles. The estate is deeply committed to sustainable, low-impact viticulture: it is 100% solar-powered (producing 150% of its needs), reuses rainwater, uses natural fertilizers and integrated pest control, and holds SQNPI certification. Wines are vegan-friendly with zero chemical residues. Bava focuses on Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera, and native varieties like Albarossa and Ruchè, producing elegant, long-lived wines from specific crus such as Scarrone in Castiglione Falletto.
