Aldo Rainoldi is a family-owned Valtellina winery founded in 1925 and now run by Aldo Rainoldi, grandson of the founder, with his wife Michela. Based in Chiuro, it is rooted in Valtellina’s heroic mountain viticulture, working steep dry-stone terraces in key subzones including Sassella, Grumello, Inferno and Valgella. Aldo, a qualified oenologist, leads winemaking with a focus on Nebbiolo-based Rosso di Valtellina and Valtellina Superiore, alongside a long-standing tradition of sparkling Nebbiolo dating back to the 1970s. Sustainability is central, with certified sustainable practices, fully manual vineyard work, hand harvesting, biodiversity protection, integrated production, biomass and hydroelectric energy, and lighter, recycled packaging.
