Weingut Günther Steinmetz is a family-owned estate in Brauneberg on the Mosel, run by Sammie and Stefan Steinmetz with their three children. Stefan has led winemaking since 1999, continuing a tradition shaped over generations. The winery farms steep slate vineyards across Brauneberg and neighboring villages, focusing on classic grape varieties including Riesling and Pinot Noir. Viticulture is nature-oriented and organic in practice, with no fertilizers, herbicides or insecticides, while cellar work avoids commercial yeasts and other additives. Grapes are hand harvested with low yields, and fermentations proceed spontaneously in large oak or steel. The estate is especially associated with historic Mosel sites such as Brauneberger Juffer and aims to express the character of each vineyard with clarity and longevity.
