Family-founded WALT focuses on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from distinctive Pacific Coast vineyards spanning Oregon and California. Its Willamette Valley wines draw on sites such as Shea Vineyard and The Corners, where volcanic, seabed, and sedimentary soils contribute to earthy, individual expressions often compared with Burgundy. Single-vineyard wines are central to WALT’s philosophy, with thoughtful viticulture, long-term grower relationships, and a commitment to expressing each site’s character. The winery emphasizes sustainable farming, hand and selective harvesting, native fermentation, precision, non-interventionist winemaking, and wines that are neither fined nor filtered. Founded by Kathryn Walt Hall in honor of her family’s winegrowing traditions, WALT is part of Hall Family Wines and is led in winemaking by Megan Gunderson.
