Tenuta Terraviva is a family-run estate in Tortoreto, in Abruzzo’s Colline Teramane, between the Adriatic Sea and Gran Sasso. Owned and operated by Società Agricola Collebello srl, the estate began bottling under its own label in 2008 after previously selling grapes to cooperatives. Its organically certified vineyards, farmed since 1998 and increasingly according to biodynamic principles since 2020, are planted exclusively with native varieties including Pecorino, Trebbiano Abruzzese, Passerina and Montepulciano. Grapes are hand-picked from the estate’s own vineyards and vinified parcel by parcel, with spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts and no additives. Calcareous-clay soils, sea breezes and mountain currents shape the wines, while a photovoltaic system supports energy self-sufficiency.
