Simpsons Wine Estate

United Kingdom

Family-owned and operated by Ruth and Charles Simpson, Simpsons’ Wine Estate was established in 2014 in Barham’s Elham Valley on the North Downs of Kent. Its vineyards lie on sunny, sheltered, south-facing chalk slopes protected by ancient woodland, with a maritime influence from the nearby coast. The estate produces exclusively estate-grown still and traditional-method sparkling wines, particularly from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, using light-touch winemaking and handling viticulture and production in-house. Its wines are shaped around provenance and the distinctive chalk terroir shared with Champagne and Burgundy. Simpsons’ is certified by Sustainable Wines of Great Britain and supports biodiversity, soil protection, reduced inputs and renewable energy through a 30kW solar array.
