Sierra de Toloño is a Rioja Alavesa producer based in Villabuena de Álava, led by owner-winemaker Sandra Bravo. Working with family-owned vineyards in the foothills of the Sierra de Toloño, she farms organically and biodynamically, with a clear emphasis on vineyard health. The vineyards include high-altitude limestone-clay sites, and some vines are over 80 years old. In the cellar, Bravo follows a minimal-intervention approach, using stainless steel, amphorae, and old or neutral oak barrels, with some wines seeing no oak at all. The estate works with Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Viura, producing wines rooted in site and careful, low-impact farming.
