Domaine Robert Ampeau is a family-owned, fifth-generation estate in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, now run by Michel Ampeau after the death of his father, Robert, in 2004. The domaine farms premier cru vineyards, notably in Meursault and Volnay, and focuses on both red and white wines. Viticulture is traditional and hands-on, with hand picking, careful sorting, grass grown between the rows, precise canopy trimming, and vineyard work carried out with an old tractor. The estate is described as low-input in approach, but no formal sustainability certifications are reported. The style is rooted in continuity, patience, and longstanding family stewardship.
