Ramón do Casar

Spain

Ramón do Casar is a family-owned winery in Prado, Castrelo de Miño, within D.O. Ribeiro, founded in 2013 by the González Sabucedo family after their return from Venezuela. Its vineyards lie on terraces beside the Castrelo de Miño reservoir, where Mediterranean conditions moderated by Atlantic influence, strong day–night temperature variation, and distinctive sábrego soils shape wines marked by freshness, aromatic intensity, and mineral character. The family emphasizes perseverance, teamwork, tradition, and a close connection with the land. Vineyard work focuses on biodiversity, soil health, ventilation, and careful study of individual parcels, supported by energy-efficient winemaking and responsible water use. Winemaking is led by Pablo Estévez, whose approach combines scientific knowledge with respect for the vineyards.
