Oxer Wines is an independent, family-run boutique producer based in Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa, founded by Omar Khayyam (Oxer Bastegieta) after his move there in 2005. The first vintage was released in 2009. Working primarily with old vineyards across Rioja Alavesa, the estate farms organically through regenerative agriculture, permaculture and biodynamic practices, with careful manual work including the use of mules. In the winery, intervention is kept to a minimum: native-yeast fermentation, early harvesting for natural acidity and gentle extraction shape wines marked by freshness and elegance. Used French oak, Austrian foudres, clay jars and concrete eggs are selected to preserve fruit rather than impart wood. Oxer also produces wines from Bizkaiko Txakolina, emphasizing indigenous varieties, terroir and traditional methods.
