Oldenburg Vineyards is a privately owned boutique estate in Stellenbosch’s Banghoek Valley, run by Western Cape entrepreneur Adrian Vanderspuy since 2003 after he inherited the farm from his grandmother. The estate emphasizes quality over volume, with winemaking led by Nic van Aarde since 2018, following Simon Thompson. Its holistic “Rondekop Philosophy” combines precision viticulture, careful replanting, and site-specific sustainable farming. Oldenburg holds no formal organic or biodynamic certification, but its approach is focused on thoughtful stewardship and expressing the character of its vineyard sites.
