Mouton Cadet is a Bordeaux wine brand launched in 1930 by Baron Philippe de Rothschild and part of the Rothschild wine family. Rather than representing a single estate, it sources grapes from numerous Bordeaux appellations and works with multiple growers, advising on viticulture and vinification for its Classic and Reserve ranges. Its partner vineyards hold High Environmental Value certification, have eliminated chemical weedkillers and pesticides since 2019, and use renewable energy, including solar panels installed in 2020. Wastewater is treated for reuse, with a target of reducing energy consumption by 20% by 2025. The brand extends the Château Mouton Rothschild legacy through a large-scale blending model.
