Michele Chiarlo

Italy

Michele Chiarlo is a family-owned Piedmontese estate founded in 1956 by oenologist Michele Chiarlo and now run by his sons Stefano (winemaker) and Alberto (business). With about 110 hectares of vineyards (60 owned, 50 leased) across Langhe, Monferrato and Gavi, annual production exceeds one million bottles. The winery emphasizes sustainable, low-intervention viticulture, treating vineyards as living organisms and following a ‘grow by subtraction’ philosophy. It holds the Equalitas sustainability certification and participates in the V.I.V.A. Sustainable Wine project. The estate owns prestigious crus, including Cannubi (acquired in 1989) and Cerequio, and produces wines only in excellent vintages, with limited-edition crus sold via allocation. Its commitment to art and landscape is showcased through projects like the Art Park La Court, set within UNESCO World Heritage vineyards.
