Domaine Jean-Marc Bernhard is a family-owned Alsace estate in Katzenthal, acquired by the Bernhard family in 1802 and now led by the ninth generation. Its organically farmed vineyards extend across diverse terroirs in five communes, including six Grands Crus, with a focus on expressing their geological character. Certified organic since 2012, the domaine harvests by hand, purchases no grapes, and works to preserve soil life through ploughing, cover crops, compost, and careful vine maintenance. Winemaking is minimally interventionist, using natural yeasts and long fermentations. The wines are described as elegant, racy, fresh, and gastronomic, with dry, fruit-focused cuvées for early drinking alongside complex, age-worthy Grand Cru, late-harvest, and noble-rot wines produced in favorable years.
