Domaine de Saint Cels

France

Domaine de Saint Cels is a family-owned estate in the heart of Saint-Chinian, Languedoc, where Etienne Rouanet, Marie Rouanet, and their sons Matthieu and Thomas carry the domaine forward. Its vineyards span schist hillsides, limestone-clay valleys, sandstone and rolled-pebble sites, shaped by a warm Mediterranean climate, cool nights and the Tramontane wind. Since 2017, the family has pursued organic and agro-ecological viticulture, using compost, green manure, mechanical or manual weeding, natural and biological pest control, cover crops and limited sulphites. The estate received HVE certification in 2019 and AB organic certification from the 2021 vintage. Its wines range from fresh, digestible, no-added-sulphite “Naturelles” cuvées to Saint-Chinian selections, with a stated focus on pleasure, elegance, authenticity and respect for terroir and biodiversity.
