Col d’Orcia is a historic, family-owned estate in Montalcino, Tuscany, led by Count Francesco Marone Cinzano, with his son Santiago involved in winemaking. Located on the hill above the Orcia River on the southwest edge of the Brunello di Montalcino zone, it is closely tied to the history of Brunello and has been in the Marone Cinzano family line since at least 1890. The estate is certified organic, fully biodynamic, and Equalitas Sustainable Winery certified, with a strong focus on soil health, biodiversity, and ongoing sustainability reporting. Col d’Orcia is known as a traditional Brunello producer, using hand harvesting, careful vineyard selection, and long ageing in large Slavonian oak casks followed by further bottle ageing to respect the character and longevity of Sangiovese.
