Château Le Clos du Notaire

France

Château Le Clos du Notaire is an artisanal Côtes de Bourg estate owned and managed by vignerons Amélie Osmond and Victor Mischler since 2015. The vineyard is organically certified and farmed with mechanical weeding, natural grassing, green manures, biodiversity measures and no insecticides, acaricides or synthetic amendments; experimental biodynamic practices also inform the work. Located on limestone terroir near the Garonne–Dordogne confluence, the estate produces traditional Bordeaux wines alongside more exploratory Borderline cuvées, including the sulfur-free L’Usufruit. Harvesting is guided by phenolic maturity, with rigorous sorting, gentle extraction and estate aging tailored to each wine’s style. The property’s history reaches back to a former 14th-century abbey and includes the restored La Gloriette overlooking the vineyards and river.
