Château La Garde is a historic estate in Martillac, in Bordeaux’s Pessac-Léognan appellation, with roots dating back to the 18th century and ownership by the Lacoste family and Louis Eschenauer before its acquisition by Maison Dourthe in 1990. The vineyard is noted for its remarkable geological mosaic, with 27 identified soil types across a single block, including a prominent gravel plateau. Viticulture is described as demanding and environmentally respectful, with integrated practices, Terra Vitis certification, biodiversity-focused management, and hand harvesting. A renovated winery inaugurated in 2021 supports precise parcel and micro-parcel vinification, reflecting the estate’s focus on expressing the individuality and purity of its terroirs.
