Cantine San Silvestro

Italy

Founded in 1871 by Giovanni Sartirano, San Silvestro is a fourth-generation family winery in Novello, at the heart of Piedmont’s Langhe and Barolo country. It manages 7 hectares and works with trusted, long-term growers, selecting grapes according to vineyard origin and the marl, clay, limestone, and sandy soils of the region. The range focuses on Piedmontese varieties, including Barbera, Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Nascetta, Favorita, Arneis, Cortese, Grignolino, and Moscato, alongside Alta Langa Metodo Classico sparkling wines. San Silvestro combines inherited traditions with modern cellar technology, including the revival and careful vinification of native varieties such as Nascetta and Favorita. Its wines are certified organic and supported by sustainability and integrated-production standards, with an emphasis on reducing chemical use and respecting ecosystems.
