Cantine Povero is a fourth-generation family winery in Cisterna d’Asti, where Roero, Langhe and Monferrato meet, with winemaking roots dating to 1837. Its vineyards lie on sunny hillsides of marine sands and clayey marls, planted to native Piedmont varieties. Organic farming began in 1998 and all estate vineyards have been certified since 2019. The family’s Equilibrio e Natura project combines regenerative practices, cover crops, compost, precision treatments and the preservation of meadows and woodland to support biodiversity. Renewable energy, biomass wastewater treatment and reduced water use further reflect its environmental commitment, alongside Equalitas sustainability and gender-equality certifications. Tradition and innovation guide wines intended to express the territory with balance, immediacy and depth.
