Founded in 1962 in Miedes de Aragón, Bodegas San Alejandro is a cooperative of growers working across high-altitude vineyards in DO Calatayud. Its varied soils—limestone, reddish clay, slate, gravel and stone—along with contrasting temperatures, old bush-trained vines and slow ripening shape wines marked by balanced acidity and restrained alcohol. Garnacha is the defining variety, with the Baltasar Gracián range as a flagship expression, alongside Viñas de Miedes. Organic farming is central to the estate, with a substantial portion of its vineyards certified and European ECO-Prowine certification, while a wind farm provides renewable energy. The cooperative combines grower ownership with the Alejandro Bulgheroni family and is guided by managing director Yolanda Diaz and a dedicated technical team.
