Weingut Mees is a family-run estate in Bosenheim, Bad Kreuznach, in the Nahe, with the Mees family making wine here since 1828. Roland and Dagmar Mees run the winery with their son Lukas, who works as a winemaker and is increasingly developing wines in barriques. The 15 hectares are farmed with ecosensitive, year-round cultivation, yield reduction, defoliation and quality-focused manual work, although the estate holds no formal sustainability certification. Vineyards include Kreuznacher Paradies, with clay marl and shell limestone, and Kreuznacher Rosenberg, with deep terraced gravel. Riesling leads a broad range of white, red and sparkling wines. The style combines traditional craftsmanship with modern cellar technology: fresh, aromatic whites, notably Riesling and the rare Kanzler, alongside Pinot Noir and other reds fermented on the mash and matured in oak. Traditional-method sparkling wines age on their lees for at least nine months and are disgorged by hand.
