Tenuta del Buonamico is a Fontana family estate in Montecarlo, Tuscany, founded in 1964 by two restaurateurs from Turin. Its vineyards are spread across the Cercatoia, Corte Collodi and Michi areas, with varied soils and both Guyot and spurred-cordon training. The estate follows sustainable practices through the SQNPI Integrated Crop Management Quality System, awarded the “bee mark” since 2022, and combines hand and machine harvesting. Since 2008, winemaking has been developed with enologist Alberto Antonini, blending traditional Tuscan varieties with French grapes. Production takes place in-house, using stainless steel, vitrified concrete and French oak, with particular strength in sparkling wines. The estate also produces extra-virgin olive oil and preserves its history in the cellar known as “L’Inferno,” which houses vintages dating back to 1964.
