Sauvion

France

Sauvion is a fourth-generation, family-owned estate in Muscadet, in France’s Loire Valley, led by university-trained oenologist and winemaker Pierre-Jean Sauvion. The estate is engaged in eco-friendly viticulture and produces primarily white Muscadet, alongside red, rosé, and sparkling wines. Its Château du Cléray vineyard reflects the Nantes area’s oceanic climate and varied soils, including siliceous clay, schist, gneiss, granite, and volcanic rocks of the Armoricain Massif. These terroirs contribute minerality, salinity, structure, freshness, and delicacy to the wines. Family traditions have passed from father to son for four generations, with a stated focus on creating expressive, elegant Muscadet with personality.
