Recaredo is a family-owned producer in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, Penedès, founded in 1924 by Josep Mata Capellades and still run by the Mata family. Working only with estate vineyards in the Corpinnat territory, they farm organically and biodynamically, with Demeter and CCPAE certification, dry farming, hand harvesting, cover crops, and plant infusions instead of herbicides or insecticides. Recaredo focuses exclusively on vintage Brut Nature sparkling wines from traditional Penedès varieties, especially Xarel·lo, with all vinification and ageing carried out on the family estate. Their style is defined by long ageing, native yeasts from their own vineyards, natural cork, hand riddling, and manual disgorgement without freezing, reflecting a deeply artisanal and terroir-driven approach.
