Quinta dos Carvalhais is a Sogrape-owned estate in Portugal’s Dão region, acquired in 1988. Its estate wines are made from grapes grown on the property, where vineyards follow certified Integrated Production standards and use winter sheep grazing to support soil health and reduce herbicide use. Winemaking has been led by Beatriz Cabral de Almeida since 2012. The estate’s production is complemented by a separate facility producing entry-level wines from externally sourced grapes, making the property’s own-vineyard wines the clearest expression of its sustainable Dão viticulture.
