Merlotta is a family-owned winery in Imola, in the Colli d’Imola of Emilia-Romagna, founded in 1962 by Paolo Minzolini and Giovanna Mimmi and now spanning four generations. The Minzolini family cultivates 45 hectares across several properties, including Tenuta Merlotta, supported by technologically advanced facilities. Its stated philosophy combines respect for nature, artisanal cultivation, and an uncompromising focus on quality. The estate’s history reaches further back: the Merlotta property is documented as early as 1637, when it was associated with the Dominican convent of Imola. Producing DOCG, DOC, red, white, and sparkling wines, Merlotta emphasizes Romagna’s identity, with Albana described as the symbolic grape of the region. Tastings, vineyard tours, and food pairings with local artisanal products connect visitors with the estate’s wines and territory.
