Founded in 1961 by local growers, Cantine Leonardo da Vinci is a cooperative based around Vinci and Montalbano, with additional activity in Montalcino. Its vineyards are owned and managed by member winegrowers, supported by agronomic and technical research, including work on Sangiovese. The producer’s Metodo Leonardo® combines modern viticulture and winemaking with inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci’s historical studies. Its Tuscan wines include Chianti and Chianti Riserva, while the Villa da Vinci collection draws on vineyards surrounding the historic estate and its connection to Leonardo’s family. The winery also produces wines from other Italian territories, including Romagna, with a focus on expressing local varieties and cultural heritage. Sustainability efforts include grower-led vineyard management and an emphasis on reducing environmental impact, though no formal certification is identified.
