Le Clos des Cazaux is a five-generation family domaine in Vacqueyras, now led by Jean-Michel and Frédéric Vache. Its vineyards span distinctive Miocene safres and marl soils in Vacqueyras and hillside parcels in Gigondas, in the Dentelles de Montmirail, where sunny exposure is moderated by cool nights and clay soils. The domaine produces white, rosé, and red wines, including Gigondas blanc based principally on old-vine Clairette, alongside Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and lesser-used regional varieties. Farming reflects a stated respect for the ecosystem: the entire vineyard is HVE level 3 certified, with hedges and wooded strips, grass cover, compost, cover crops, reduced pesticide use, and extensive manual work. Winemaking uses gravity flow, manual destemming, gentle pressing, and extended aging in stainless steel, concrete, or oak, with natural clarification and light filtration.
