Founded in 1865 by Norwegian exporters Theodor Wiese and Dankert Krohn, Krohn began as a small Port-focused operation and later became Portuguese. Its flagship estate, Quinta do Retiro Novo, lies in Sarzedinho in the Rio Torto Valley, where its Vintage and Colheita Ports are produced. These wines are aged in Vila Nova de Gaia, supported by substantial inventories. Since 2013, the brand, vineyards, and stocks have been owned by the Fladgate Partnership and integrated into WineStone’s Douro portfolio.
